“Everything Happens for a Reason” – 11:00 am
Series: Half Truths
Today Pastor Jeff led us through an examination of the saying "Everything Happens for a Reason." The Bible does state in Romans 8 that "God causes everything", but some Christians fail to read on and find that the verse ends with "to work together for good." Instead, they choose to believe that God causes everything, good or bad, to happen and that everything that does occur is because God's will.

    “An Also” – 11:00am
Today, Pastors Jeff and Alison teamed up to bring us "An Also". Stories of Olympians like the Jamaican Bobsled Team of 1988 and Eddie the Eagle were compared to Paul's words to Timothy (2 Timothy 4:7) in an effort to remind us that even when we hit a wall, we must push forward and persevere. God wants us to push through the trying times in our lives and he is always with us. If these Olympians had not pushed on, records would not have been  set, personal goals would not have been met and the world would think of them as just someone who tried and failed. With perseverance, the Olympians mentioned were able to create a legacy that lives on forever.

    New Life
In today's message, Pastor Jeff discussed being part of the story of life. Orpah and Mr Mish-Mash (the Redeemer in Ruth Chapter 4) wrote themselves out of the story. Ruth, Boaz and Naomi continued to be a part of the story. We too need to work to continue to be part of God's story as we move through life.

    Unheard of
Today, Pastor Jeff discussed the unusual actions of Boaz after meeting Ruth. He went out of his way to treat Ruth differently than the others who gleaned from his land because of her actions toward Naomi. Much like him, we most also consider doing things that are unheard of. Customs and courtesies are in place, but going against the norm can often be just as rewarding.
