Our church welcomes the families of Ft. Hood. We strive to provide support to our men and women in uniform stationed here and abroad, and their families. We have many groups which offer outreach and support single soldiers, military families, and spouses of deployed soldiers. Our church family is full of active and retired military families who understand the pressures of military life and offer their support through friendship, fellowship and prayer. Come learn more about our Military Outreach programs.
Military Concerns
We provide support to single service members, married civilians and married service families when separated during deployments. Our goal is to provide a friendly, positive environment for your family to worship and be nurtured by First United Methodist Church of Killeen. Your commitment and dedication to our country deserve our full support and appreciation. Help us to continue to improve our programs so that other military and civilians seek us out to worship and serve others in our communities. Contact Darrel Charlton dcharlton@hot.rr.com
Military Connections
is a diverse group of people who face the rewards and challenges of being connected to the military and meet together for bible study and fellowship. We are open to anyone who has direct connections to the military or who would just like to support those who are. We offer two Bible studies that meet once a month. The day Bible study group meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 11:45 a.m. The evening Bible study group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Both groups get together for an evening of fellowship and fun on the 3rd Friday at 7 p.m. We currently offer childcare for the Thursday evening Bible study and the Friday group event. We are looking into childcare for the Tuesday day class. Childcare RSVP’s are due no later than the Monday before the event. For more information, email: fumcmilitaryconnection@yahoo.com
