New Schedule!
We have a new schedule for Sunday mornings that will hopefully allow more opportunities for you and your family to get connected to First Killeen. You will notice that you do not see the word Sunday school any more. We call our sunday morning education ‘Growth Groups’ because we want you to grow together in your faith. We don’t want you to think you are returning to your school days. So check out our Growth Groups at 830, 930 and 11am!

Family Life Studies
Our class is based on relationships and deep conversations. We study the spoken words of Christ and then translate how these words can be applied to our lives today. Our class includes a broad range of people including stay-at-home moms, teachers, businessmen, active duty and retired military and their spouses, etc. We range in age from the 30+ to 60+. Our class chooses what subject to study. Topics change about every 6 weeks.

Young Adults
It’s time for younger Christians to take up the mantle and become more involved as leaders in the church. We are the NEXT disciples, leaders and servants. It also means that we will not be satisfied with what we have completed but are always ready for the NEXT task. We are First United Methodist Church. We are the Young Adults. And we are NEXT. If you are ready to become a disciple of Christ and make a difference in the world then please join us!

Navigators
One could say we are an “eclectic group.” Our members range in age from 20 to 80. We take each Bible character and study his/her story in the Bible, gleaning how we should (or should not) live to learn the skills we need to grow closer to our Redeemer. We are a discussion group who encourages opinions and learns from each other.

Wesley
Each week, we welcome between 15-20 people to our class. Our members range in ages from late 40s to late 80s, with the majority of those averaging 6o+. We discuss the scripture in its historical context and apply its teachings to contemporary life. We have our own officers who conduct brief business meetings, joys and concerns, prayer, and sometimes a devotion led by the president. We invite you to come join us!

New Dimension
Our class is one of the largest attended Sunday school classes at FUMC Killeen. We have a diverse group of people from a variety of categories attending our class, all ranging in age from 19 to 80s. All are welcome. We use the Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies publications and follow the dated lessons. We have open discussion and encourage all to participate.
Facilitator is Ken Smith, ksmith22@hot.rr.com
The Methodists
Our class includes the Study of Paul’s Letters. These writings from the New Testament provide insight into the beliefs and controversies of early Christianity. They have also been, and continue to be, the foundation to Christian theology and Christian ethics. The class is taught in a discussion-style setting and everyone contributes.
Facilitator is Gary McMillan, gary.mcmillan@fumc-killeen.org.
Friendship
Our class is one of the longest running groups at FUMC Killeen. Our group is friendly and loves to have fun. On the first of the month, we throw a party for everyone who has birthdays within the month. Our group is affectionately described as “80s to heaven,” but people of all ages are welcome.
Facilitator is Julia Green.
Family as Ministry
This Small Group seeks to minister to families by exploring what Biblical principals can offer us as members of a family. This is a study for the entire family: parents, kids and youth. What does the Bible say about how we can better fulfill our roles as members of a family?Facilitated by Keith and Holly Smith, hollymel@hotmail.com

Parents of Youth
As the name implies, our members are made up primarily of parents of youth age children, although that is not a requirement. In the Parents of Youth Sunday School Class, we primarily focus on studying various books of the bible, covering one chapter per week. Using commentaries as our guide, we discuss the cultural and theological influences and their impact on the material in the chapter.
